Vision and Values

“Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.” Matthew 13:32.

OUR CHRISTIAN VISION

As a loving Christian school, our aspiration is to develop happy, confident and successful life-long learners. We provide a safe and nurturing family environment, inspired by our Christian values, in which children have constant opportunities to grow and flourish in the wider world and on their spiritual journey.

Hampstead Norreys CE strives to be an inclusive community where children grow, flourish and succeed together.  Within our rural community, our small Christian school nurtures growth, gives courage to face challenge, and provides abundant opportunities for unique strengths to blossom. Mental health and wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do and recognised as the responsibility of all. Everyone feels valued and has respect for themselves and others, and hope for the brightest future.

OUR CORE VALUES

Respect

Respect is about valuing everyone and everything, and celebrating our differences. Through our value of respect, we aim to develop self-respect, as well as respect for others.

‘So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you’ Matthew 7:12

Perseverance

Through our value of perseverance, we aim to teach children to maintain a ‘can-do’ attitude and aspire towards their goals. This links to our learning power of ‘never giving up’, and our learning about growth mind-set and metacognition.

‘We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope’ Romans 5:3-4

Courage

Through our value of courage, we hope to guide children to accept the things that they cannot change and the courage to change the things they can.

‘Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go’ Joshua 1:9

Friendship

We encourage our children to love themselves, and to love each other. We aim to teach children how to build on each other to grow, and to recognise the unique in themselves. This is represented by the branches of the mustard plant, which are so strong they allow the birds to nest on them.

‘Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing’ 1 Thessalonians 5:11
